Purchasing and Renting Equipment
IET-ATS has technicians and engineers available to consult with departments wishing to purchase their own systems. Systems typically come in the following four configurations:
- Personal (Software):
- Desktop applications e.g. Polycom PVX for Windows
- Inexpensive
- Uses your own computer (need a camera and microphone)
- Capable of point to point as well as joining medium and large sessions
- Small (Hardware):
- Point to point
- Requires monitor and speakers
- Does point to point – but can use a bridge to access multiple points
- Can be permanent or portable (requires casing, etc., raising user cost)
- Larger, higher quality image than software
- Allows more users than software solutions
- Medium (Hardware):
- Handles up to 4 (3 plus yourself) inputs
- Does not require a “bridge” to meet with up to 3 other locations
- Can use one input to provide display from a computer
- Can be permanent or portable (requires casing, etc., raising user cost)
- Large (Hardware):
- Handles up to 6 (5 plus yourself) inputs
- Does not require a “bridge” to meet with up to 5 other locations
- Can use one input to provide display from a computer
- Can be permanent or portable (requires casing, etc., raising user cost)
- Offers dual monitor capability
